People and the fjord
Dedicated to fjord culture, Frederikssund Museum is beautifully located in the old ferry building in Frederikssund from 1839. The exhibitions focus on the co-existence of humans with the fjord from ancient times to the present, including transport routes, resources and settlements.
The exhibitions display traces of the lives of Stone Age inhabitants on the fjord during the hunter-gatherer period and move on to distinctive local finds from the Bronze, Viking and Middle Ages.
