Denmark’s oldest mental hospital
Established in 1816 Denmark’s oldest mental hospital overlooks Roskilde Fjord in scenic, protected surroundings, with ramparts from the bishop of Roskilde’s residence in Bistrup still visible.
The renowned Golden Age architect behind Thorvaldsens Museum, Gottlieb Bindesbøll, designed the complex of hospital buildings.
